Beginning of The Universe

By Sanam Marjan

The start of the universe

In terms of science, the beginning of the universe is stated by the ‘Big Bang Theory'

Which states the universe has been created from a single, incredibly hot point or singularity more than 13 billion years ago. It initiated the expansion and the cooling of the space. And did not occur in an already existing space.

Strong grounding behind the Big Bang Theory

The theory explains why the other galaxies are moving away from us in order to continue with expansion. The faint glow seen everywhere in the universe is due to the traces of heat left behind from the birth of the universe. Which has now cooled over a few degrees above absolute zero. And this is powerful evidence of how the universe was formed.

The lightest elements were created, Hydrogen, Helium, and Lithium. From which heavier elements emerged into stars and supernovas.

Cosmic Inflation

It is faster than light expansion. The theory suggests that the universe expanded drastically in a small fraction of a second after the Big Bang Theory. Which was driven by the energy contained in the space. And after inflation, the universe continued to expand and cool at a slower rate.

Inflation stretched out space quickly for which the space became extremely uniform. But space is not wholly homogenous. Fluctuations of the density of matter present in the early stage of the universe were astronomically amplified during the cause of inflation. Eventually revolving into large-scale structures of the universe such as the cluster of galaxies.

Dark matter

The concept of the big bang theory does not discuss whether the universe will continue to expand or will contract into a singularity. And hence the ultimate fate of the universe depends on two factors; dark matter and dark energy. And holds the mystery of the universe would end in fire or ice.

The solar system, stars, galaxies, and interstellar gases make up one-sixth of the mass of the universe and the rest is dark matter. In which the galaxies rotate quicker. And high concentration causes light to bend. Its nature is still unknown but we know that dark matter is a force known as dark energy.
